WoltLab Suite 6.0.1, a minor release, is now available.
Woltlab Suite 6.0 got an update in the form of 6.0.14.
If you are using version 5.5 , v5.5.21 is available.
Looks like Woltlab 6.1 beta will be available soon. Last week, I noticed their community was on a development version. It is not there now, but I think they were live testing the board.
Possible, there was a new blog post about customisable admin panel in Woltlab Suite 6.1. That was on 20 th June 2024.
Another blog post on v 6.1 was on May 20 th this year.
So Woltlab Forum 6.1 will be here soon?
Given they blogging about advanced features in the admin panel, I think the whole Woltlab Suite 6.1 will be available in a couple of months. Their development is faster than other forums. They go through a rapid cycle once the beta is released.
The good thing about Woltlab is that they give public beta. That is what I remember. Possibly the same this time.
That is a good thing. Especially for those who share news about forum software. If I am to talk about something, I need to try it before explaining.
Also, people get to try it and check whether it suits their needs. Their UX has improved a lot in the last few years. I am loving it here.
Their migration tools are powerful and easy to use. We migrated from Flarum. I saw topic on Woltlab talking about importing from phpBB. The importer comes free with the licence. That is an added bonus if you ask me.
Moving in and out is a critical requirement. I am sure Woltlab fares well in this area.
I checked the supported importer. Both IPS and Xenforo offer no Woltlab importers. I don't know why.
I am happy with Woltlab. But if people want to migrate to XF or IPS, that is a costly affair. You need to hire someone to import your data into Xenforo or IPS format.
Why so? I assumed that it was there by default?
I don't know. Competition, business tactics, no idea. But they have no official import tool for Woltlab.
Are you going to test Woltlab 6.1 beta when it arrives? I think you should.
I normally try a lot of things on localhost. That I will do for sure so that I can write and understand more about it.
Another blog on Woltlab 6.1 on April 19, talking about " User authentication overhaul ".
If you want to try Woltlab Suite, then v 6.1 is not far from what I see. They always keep up with competitor new editions. Xenforo got one, Invision is almost there. So I think Woltlab will be ready too.
A new blog post talks about Member list redesign. It looks good.
