Microsoft is retiring the Calibri font in favour of Aptos as their main font. Microsoft initially introduced 5 news fonts namely Bierstadt, Grandview, Seaford, Skeena, and Tenorite of which Bierstadt was found the favourite. Bierstadt is now renamed Aptos and is expected to replace Calibri.
Aptos will now be the default font in Microsoft 365 acting as the default font in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Aptos was designed by Steve Matteson who created the Segoe font for Microsoft earlier. For those interested in the technical details of typography, Aptos is a Sans Serif font. It is also referred to as Gothic or Grotesque.
