Ubuntu switching to sudo-rs in 25.10 Questing Quokka, a Rust based alternative to superuser do aka sudo. Expected to be released on October 9, Ubuntu 25.04 " Questing Quokka " is planning to replace C based sudo with Rust based sudo-rs. The good thing is that you will still be typing sudo for commands and it will automatically use sudo-rs. Sounds like a good deal, right?

Gnome moving is to Wayland. Gnome 50 will drop Xorg code, and it will be unsupported. The move to Wayland was long due and Gnome already uses Wayland for default login.
