Designing for Android TV

Do you think it is hard to design apps for Android TV when compared to mobile devices? What challenges do you face when you try?

Do you have to change the code a lot to support Android TV compatibility?

If you use Android Studio, you won't feel it much. But with other methods, I am afraid the gap is considerable.

I am having some trouble with this. There is serious lack of resources when trying to design for Android TV. Not many guides or support communities.

Some basic concepts work well for both phones and TV. Other than that, phones in general has a lot of documentation you can rely on.
