Vultr ToS confusion

  • A recent post on social media started it. It digged up a definition in Vultr terms of service and explained that Vultr owns what they host. Or something similar along those words spread like wildfire on different social media platforms. I saw a X post where Vultr explained that this is applicable only to the forum content where they can use them for advertising without hinderance. The Vultr team also explained that their lawyers might have chosen a bad set of words to explain the situation.

But the damage was done and people were not happy.

As per The Register , Vultr removed the controversial " data licencing clause " from its terms of service.

Let us assume it is peace again. Lawyer's mistake or not, Vultr got a lot bad publicity and that might affect them badly.
